Anyone else struggling with wfh during busy season? I have no way to understand productivity relative to other new hires and feel like i am under utilized
How long do you think it’d take to “explore” Chicago? Have opportunity to work remote from US and would love to travel from city to city maybe every year or every 6 months and wondering if a year is enough time to get a good experience out of Chicago
Anyone get reverse jet lag? I've been flying Mon-Thursday coast to coast for the past 3 years.. that when I get the random WFH week, my sleep schedule is totally screwed up more than normal.
Waking up today knowing that I’m off for 7 days and then get to work from home till the last of week of January is THE BEST FEELING EVER.
I’m a bit late but, I’m trying to build my wfh setup, any suggestions for stand up desks / chairs/ etc?
My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.
Like most of the agencies, we were operating in a high touch environment with our clients to grow business. And in 2020 everyone understood the need to operate remotely and focused on getting the work done. However a lot of sales/opportunities for growth were discovered in informal coffee/lunch sessions with clients. I wonder how are all of you engaging with clients in a remote set up. Would love to hear everyone’s experiences..
Anyone went to India and WFH from there?
Looking for a few positive & current questions/brian teasers to engage a large group (e.g., pet adoptions have increased by X percent this March compared to last in the wake of WFH due to covid-19)
Pretty sure most people posting here are either on the John or WFH during the normal business hours.
Does anyone have a SO who doesn’t quite get the whole remote work thing? My SO sees nice weather outside and wants to leave in the middle of the day to grill or get outside, and gets frustrated when I say I need to stay on the computer. I don’t have crazy amounts of work, but I do have a manager who needs to know the hours I work every day. Does anyone else have a partner like this? If so, what do you tell them?
Anyone else really pack on the pounds during work from home? I really blew up - probably gained 40-45 pounds. I feel so bloated and sluggish all the time and none of my clothes fit anymore. I hope I’m not alone.
👋🏼 A little WFH cuteness
I recently transitioned to wfh full-time, in house. Amazing gig - I’m not complaining - but I literally never have to wear suits or anything fancy. Coworkers wear t-shirts, rarely blouses. My background is litigation, so I’m used to wearing sweaters, cardigans, suits, dresses. I don’t want to be the only one wearing business casual outfits but I can’t bring myself to wear a tank top/t-shirt and sweats/leggings every day. Advice for what to wear to wfh now that I’m just dressing for me? (Cont.)
Anyone hiring for a social media strategist with over 5 years exp in NY/NJ/Remote? The person is looking to start work after a sabbatical.

Any interns here? How's your remote internship going so far? Must be a weird experience...
Any 🐠 looking for a place to stay in Boston this winter? I am taking advantage of 100% remote work and going to Utah. Looking to rent out my furnished 2 BR 2Bath apartment, downtown- water view of the harbor next to the aquarium. $4k a month (renting at cost)
How do sick days work? Just realized that 1/3 of my “PTO” is actually sick days (and it’s not generous and you don’t get paid out when you leave). I’m very lucky to not get sick but does that mean in order to use some I’ll have to spontaneously say I’m ill with little advanced notice? Seems like a policy which rewards people for leaving their team in a lurch.
Is end-of-year bonus season a lost cause at this point? (In a firm with no layoffs or pay cuts yet).
How did you all handle like a family matter or traumatic event that happened while super busy at work? I’m finding myself being very unmotivated and unable to focus, but feel like I can’t take time off.
I think my firm is going to be moving towards global flexibility regarding work from home. They won't force us to live in certain cities with offices. Where in the US is there a beach or beach town that gets all four seasons? Is such a thing possible? I love the ocean, but Fall is my favorite season.
Anybody interview at or leave for MBB? What was their interview experience like, and from what group did you leave from?
On this day 6 months ago, I left my prior firm. I’m still in consulting but no more waking up in the middle of the night in cold sweats, no more conversations with my gf about how my working hours and stress are affecting our relationships, no more interventions hosted by friends who are worried about me, and no more financial issues. I would have quit after bonus payouts even if nothing had been lined up. Luckily I found something. I’m in a pensive mood - life is good 😊
Mid thirties M live in SoCal, F 🐠.... ready for a quarantine connect and build from there, DM me. Open to summer hikes or walks on the beach 🏖 or zoom/FaceTime calls. Life is great and now is the perfect time!
Any partners who switched from B4 to MBB, if so what was your experience and how was the transition? Would you do it again?
So I started at a new role at a known retailer about 2 months ago. I am their first hire in this role, as I have more than 5 years of relevant experience leading initiatives and optimizing process across departments. While I understand it takes time to adjust to the culture, its seems like all I have witnessed is resistance to change. I already feel myself not wanting to be here long, but I'm putting pressure on myself to not be a quitter. Would you stick it out or start looking?
