Thanks all! He's started his consonants back up again. Just waiting on him to restart his rambling so we can resume our conversations and debates.
At 9 months I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Kids go through stages, I’d be more worried if he was 18-24 months and still wasn’t talking. If you’re worried about communicating you can try sign language, it helped a lot with my son.
I parrot the sign language comment, but please don’t wait until 18-24 months. Take a look at the ASHA website and if your child isn’t hitting those milestones, look into early intervention. My wife is an SLP and the earlier you get intervention, the better!

From my experience, it'll come back after a few months. One thing that helps is him listening to baby songs, and also Ms Rachel videos on YouTube.

Very cute
Same thing with us. Went quiet for about 4 weeks. Day before we saw the doc about it, he was back babbling and is now full steam ahead
Just to say its probably going to revert. I blab with him as much as i can
Happened to us too. Seemed to take a few weeks' break before getting back to it (and now at 18 months is trying to repeat any words she hears us saying).
