My agency has changed performance management system twice in the past 3 years. I have 1 on 1s with my direct reports and some informal skip meetings to talk about career development, but besides having a rough idea of who is up for promotion, I don't have time to track much else.

Anyone else finding it very difficult to get any enjoyment out of account management these days? Any coping tips? I feel like being an account person is especially difficult in the COVID era since so much of what we do is manage communications, ensure the team is set up well etc. None of this feels particularly fun alone staring into the void of Zoom all day ... but the same pressure is still there. I feel like I spend every week counting down to the weekend which kinda sucks.

Right so here’s a bit of a dilemma I work to a much higher standard at home and it’s this high standard that means I’m in line for a promotion.
