My company just restructured our commission plan to a tiered grid system, and my monthly payout just dropped by $1,500 for the exact same volume. They claim the new system is designed to reward consistent high-performers, but the math shows it just makes it harder to hit the accelerators unless you have a freakishly large quarter. How do you address a mid-year comp plan change?

I am a proposal manager for federal consulting company. My base is low (112000) but I make up upto 50-70% of my base income with win bonuses. But I get the bonus only after the completion of one year of the base period of the contract. My question is -is this arrangement good or should I negotiate for higher base instead ?
