Hi fishers! I have offer and signed contract with Deloitte UK and my start day is in the beginning of April. I need skilled worker visa, and we haven’t applied yet for that. Screening and onboarding is in progress. Immigration team doesn’t reply since reached me out 1st time. How much time does it usually needed to go through the whole process? How many days take for visa to be approved since application?Deloitte

If the lease requires 30 days notice you shouldn't trust a landlord saying "everything is fine" - their word is not binding. Only a written agreement can modify a written contract.
When the landlord realized you were a problem tenant - and leaving without proper notice makes you a problem - they were probably happy to lead you on and just get you out of there, and then keep your deposit as a way of recouping their losses.
I would do the same thing. You behaved poorly as a tenant.

Wait, this is still confusing. What does your lease actually say? You need to find and read your copy first.

Apparently neither do you OP, considering you don’t even know the terms of your lease or where it is, or seem to understand what literally everyone on this post is telling you
Try not to insult people you asked for help
Read a copy of your lease and see what it says about notice. Also, if you didn’t get it in writing that they told you that you could move out without notice, you’re SOL.
I apologize I’m not sure what you mean by “putting charges.”
What's your contract say ? If it says 30 day notice and you didn't give that, then they contractually and legally have the right to keep the deposit (buys them a month to find a new tenant and not have unrented). If correct you didn't give 30 days and they legally have the right to keep, then you need to be responsible and accountable for the agreement you entered into

I believe cc disputes dont go to court
You lost the deposit because you vacated suddenly. And where did you get the idea of a 30 day notice from? Did you make that up? Cause it’s almost always a 60 day notice you have to give. But if you don’t have a lease then this was a completely verbally agreed upon situation so you have no grounds for legal action and no credit card company will let you dispute a rent payment lol they will investigate it and realize it was for rent. This is a lesson learned…don’t get into another apartment without a lease contract that clearly states the terms and maybe in your case have it reviewed by someone who can translate it to you so you know what you’re signing.

OP, I don’t think it’s intentional, but you’re getting unclear answers because your responses haven’t been very clear. If you had a written lease that you (or your partner) signed, then the landlord’s verbal “okay” does not matter. Any change to the terms in the written lease needed to be in writing.
Based on all the back and forth here why do you not have access to your lease? They should’ve either gave it to you through email or on paper. Read the lease and come back to us.
It’s your words against theirs. There’s really nothing you can do.
There’s nothing wrong with asking here, but we’re all telling you the same thing - read the lease.
So you didn’t do lease renewal or were you month on month

You shouldn't be renting an apartment unless you have a lease and know how to read a lease and follow its provisions.
I guess you’re not in NY, there the security deposit is in escrow
https://rentguidelinesboard.cityofnewyork.us/resources/faqs/security-deposits/
Since you’re in ny, landlord has 15 days to refund or tell you specific reasons why they wont. Threaten small claims.

Man OP, unfortunately being an immigrant and not knowing the law and not keeping track of your contracts is not going to hold up anywhere - in a CC dispute, in court, on Fishbowl…
Lesson learned, ignorance doesn’t absolve you of responsibility.
