My parents are visiting the US for an extended stay. Can I add one of them as an authorized user on one of my credit cards? They don’t have US accounts / social security numbers. Anyone done this before? Likely be with Chase or Amex

Yeah you can even with chase. Also you can add them to your bank accounts

like

You can do that with Amex. If they ask for an identification number, use their passport number.

like

I have chase sapphire. You can just add them as a secondary user and chase should issue one with their name on it. They can use it in their home country too

like

Yes 100%. You’re still the owner of the account and be liable for everything. They will just be an authorized user of your card

like

You can also just let them use your card (not true for Amex, which is explicitly not transferable).

Hi fellow fish need some advice.

I'm planning a wedding and wondering if I should apply for new credit cards to maximize on points. If so, wondering what your recommendations are and or if there are new cards out there I haven't heard of yet. For context I probably have another 20k+ in expenses to pay still and my current cards are:

CSP
Marriott Bonvoy Boundless
Citi double cash
Random card (used to be uber)

My boyfriend and I make 200K combined and live in NJ. We have $1000 in monthly car payments combined. That’s all we owe. Our credit scores are in the 800s. We have 50K to put down on a home. We have done the math and I know we can afford much more but he doesn’t want to buy more than a 400K home. I’m almost positive we can afford 500K and be more than ok. But then he starts to talk about how much kids cost and how we will be house poor and we won’t be able to afford kids. 🤔 Am I insane??

Would have to finance the whole thing myself. Current net worth is 140k. Thoughts?

First time poster here!

After spending 4 years as a mid-level ops manager, I tried to break into HR through talent acquisition. Now after 6 years in TA, I've had a hard time getting out of it. My goal was always to get into a more broad HRBP position, but I've since worked for smaller orgs without a solid HR career path. When I ask about my career goals, they keep telling me, "Soon!" Or "Maybe in 6 months!"

I'm testing SPHR in June. Any advice for securing the type of role I'm aiming for?
