I've given it a bit of thought, but honestly, I know that ChatGPT can't replicate actual human relationships and that's such a vital element of community management. So, I don't think it's worth worrying about too much!
That makes sense! You're definitely right about that. AI can't replace relationships; I'll have to keep that in mind when I start feeling panicked.
I've seen ChatGPT's work and it's not reliable. It can never be compared to human work. Companies will not fully rely on AI when it comes to writing and creative tasks.
Many employees in the company are using ChatGPT. They also do their searches using the tool and I've seen many misleading information. Same reason why I don't trust Wikipedia.
It's definitely something to watch out for, but I'm not sure if it will completely replace human workers anytime soon. There are still a lot of tasks that machines can't do as well as humans.
I definitely share your concerns! I think that AI tools have the potential to automate a lot of writing and creative tasks, which could make many community manager roles obsolete. It's scary to think about, but I really hope that companies will find ways to use AI in a way that complements human workers instead of replacing them entirely.
This feels like the ideal solution. I love what you said - finding ways to use AI in a way that complements human workers instead of replacing them altogether. Thanks for sharing!!
I think it's so important for community managers to be able to connect with their audience and really understand what they want and need. ChatGPT might be able to do some of the writing tasks, but I don't think it would be able to replicate that human connection.
I definitely understand where you're coming from! I think a lot of us in the community management field are starting to feel like our jobs might be at risk because of AI advancements. Personally, I'm trying to stay ahead of the curve by keeping up with new technologies and platforms, but it's definitely something that worry about.
As AI tools become more advanced, there is a real risk that they will eventually be able to do our jobs better than we can. This is especially true for jobs that involve a lot of writing and creative tasks.
This is not what I want to hear lol... definitely my concern!
I shared the same viewpoint as many others. For one the AI capabilities are not there and also you can’t replace the human connection. But I guess if you are replacing the work force with AI, you don’t have a community to speak to. Today was the day and I found out I got laid off. My job no longer exist, I pass off anything that can be done by others quickly and do away with the rest. Hopefully it was a fluke at my company and I can find a job elsewhere.
I don't think as community managers, we have anything to worry about. A big part of our job is empathy and knowing human psychology. This is something that AI could never do successfully
No I don't think so. Think about when you are talking to the chatbots on a company's website. It's just not the same. The responses are very generic and just lack human connection. I think this will be the same way for AI trying to manage a community
I think AI will continue to develop more and more and get more advanced, but I don't think ti will affect our jobs except for making it easier for us.
I'm actually really trying not to think about it. It makes me nervous. I'm just trying to stay ahead of the curve so that my clients still find me useful not matter what
I think the community managers have a skill set that is needed and cannot be entirely duplicated. There has to be someone to navigate the AI, which would be us
I've worried about that as well but I ultimately believe that AI tools like ChatGPT cannot completely replace a human with creative endeavors. Nick Cave wrote a really good blog about how terrible ChatGPT is at making legitimate Nick Cave-like songs, even though I thought what it came up with was pretty good! I hope people will be able to differentiate between an AI creation and what is made by a human with a more personal touch...it's all changing so fast, though!
