So what you are saying is your SO wants precious metals for each year she spends with you?
If you had to give her gold or other financial instruments for smaller increments of time (say an hour) what would you think then?
I don’t have to do anything and there’s no ultimatum here. This isn’t an existential crisis for our relationship. It’s just a meaningful difference in what we value, which inevitably results in someone being upset about the outcome each time it comes up.
my SO is the same. I just establish clear frequency/expectations. ie: "ok, 10, 25, 50 yr anniversary you want some jewlery? ok but it will be under X, Y, and Z prices and I will want A,B,C experiences at those milestones. So we will also need to afford those...."
Of course you will need to negotiate, but you come off as someone who wants to support ideas and not shoot them down. Your SO may decide the bling isnt worth it on their own when you present what you are looking for.
Nah man, don't put your SO on pedestal. It won't end well
Pay her in BTC
Think of it as an investment in post-apocalyspe trade goods (also: nothing beats good quality Solingen steel)
