Overcoming a People-Pleasing Holiday Habit
Call to Action: This time of year, there's so much pressure to create the perfect holiday experience with presents, parties and the pressure to keep everyone else’s spirits bright through New Year’s. For people pleasers, It often feel like there’s so much to do that you deplete all of your own energy in keeping others happy. Take time this week to set boundaries and learn to say ‘no.’
Understanding: Overcoming a people-pleasing habit doesn’t mean you have to stop all festivities. It simply means dialing down expectations and giving yourself grace. Here are three ways to break the habit over the holiday season:
Choose values over fears: Keep your focus on what you really value can help mitigate fears of disappointing others
Set Boundaries: Remember that this is your holiday season, too. Prioritizing activities that fuel rather than deplete you.
Get Comfortable Saying No: Setting boundaries isn't always easy—you're going to experience some feelings. While you’re sitting with these uncomfortable emotions, come up with a few mantras you can tell yourself, such as “I can give myself permission to rest,”

Aww this just came right on time. I have been going crazy with Christmas decorations because I want everything to look perfect. This is my reminder to calm down.
The key is to remember yourself in all the festivities. Yes, spread joy, bake those cookies, wear that ugly sweater with pride, but do it within your own limits.
