One of my kids gets car sick if they are looking down reading or on a tablet. So we restrict those or constantly remind him to hold them up high.
Kids Dramamine is the best
And the blue hospital barf bags are always in our car. They’re like a tube sock so you can roll the opening to close it.
Daughter started getting carsick on any trip over 20 minutes at age 3. She’s 5 now, so it’s gotten better, but for any long car trips I’m always prepared. Here’s advice:
1) get kids Dramamine. I bought the entire aisle of it at target for a few years stockpile. With age/weight use lower doses to not get the sleepy side effect.
2) make sure they’re sitting behind you (placement helps for some odd reason)
3) get doggy bags for as they get older they can take care of it on they’re own. Think hospital style vomit bags. I keep them in the car door pocket for her in reach. Tupperware is a way, but it won’t stop the smell and harder to clean as not disposable.
4) check on them often, “how are you feeling? Let me know if you feel funny.”
5) Routes help - more windy roads or sporadic driving definitely adds to it.
6) just in case it gets really bad, I keep a change of her clothes in the car and a pack of baby wipes and hand sanitizer.
Hope some of that helps.
That’s def a new one. Mini freak outs on car rides but no vomit.
Try shorter trips to build up his stamina? Eg drive around the block? Just an idea
