New account manager question: I didn’t finish my bachelor’s degree due to some health issues. Now that I’ve gotten all that worked out, I’d like to get started in a role that doesn’t require me to go deeper into debt. I was ¾ of the way into a business degree, so I have some experience and knowledge, just not a degree. Will I still be able to find a job? And what should I say about my college experience, anything?

Now i have been interviewed and selected for Ameriprise where I would learn on the job and work on workday finance.
No WD certification.

When is it appropriate to ask / explore working on a different account? Or, alternatively, how long do you stay on a account before you start itching for a change? I’m happy with my agency but it’s been a long two years on my current client and wondering if I am just in need of something new. I’d also like to ensure I don’t get too deep on any one industry.

Throughout my career, I have worked at both “traditional” and “digital” shops. My current agency would fall under traditional but also offers digital services. Our process, roles and skillsets seem way outdated but I wasn’t sure if it was just my opinion or if this is just how it works. For example, we have no CTO or tech leads. Our digital producers feel more like project managers than actual producers. Account Management is just traditional, no real digital knowledge. Feels layered and dated.

What are the key skills that one needs to master to become a Acct Sup? Is it always do it first before being promoted? Or is most of it learning once you’re in the role?
