Considering income tax, the Miami job is a different level on a net basis
Go for it. Build some wealth. Enjoy the sun my friend
I love that perspective! Thanks for your response
Take the Miami job for sure! It’s not NY, and the vibe is different, but you can be outside throughout the year! It could be a fun adventure :)

Definitely take it, it's a new experience. Even if you were just getting around the same pay, I'd say to take it since you would be making more in Miami not paying NY state tax. Going in the office 5 days might suck at times but depending on where your office is it may not feel so bad. Plus if you enjoy the beach or other things Miami has to offer that NY doesn't have then those pros may outweigh the con of mandatory in office.
You know what? this reply is very reassuring! Thanks for the motivation. I'm getting closer and closer to considering the move
Going into the office isn't all that bad. I'd take the money and run.
Hahah I guess it isn't so bad when you get to keep the extra cash!

According to Reddit and this sub 275k you are barely on the cusp of being comfortable sorry :(
I’m from Miami, I’d stay with the remote job in NY!
275k is more than enough to live in miami. May i ask what you do for a living?

Have you weighed the pros and cons on moving to Miami and staying in New York?
It depends what type of life you want. I moved from NYC to Miami and I almost wish I didn’t. So it really depends what are your priorities, what do you value in life, what lifestyle you are looking for and things like that.
The life style is very different here vs Miami. Missing Nyc city buzz, culture, architecture, cute restaurants and coffee shops. Hot weather all year around kills me. I dont care much about the beach (like it on holidays but other than that doesnt do much for me). This is vacation destination in the end. It is a great city but definitely not for me.
