my uncle owned the house my grandma lived in. he passed away, went through probate. from dod in 2013 - 2020, grandma paid for rent, utilities, lawn / HOA, maintenance, etc. aunt married to deceased uncle inherits house. she sold it this year. would like to learn more regarding elder law or inheritance to see whether grandma has a case to get back $ spent on house that was not hers. no rental agreement, etc.

I have a Fidelity Brokeragelink account for my 401k. Every other year I switch from pre and post tax contributions. My money is spread over 3 ETFs currently. Does anyone know how this is tracked? Say if $100k is traditional 401k and $100k is Roth 401k, but they’re mixed, how can Fidelity track what funds are Roth/traditional? If I’m up 300% in ARKK, how can I or anyone else at fidelity tell if the cost basis was pre or post tax contributions?

What is the benefit of investing in mutual funds such as VTSAX over a similar ETF other than reoccurring investments that allow you to set it and forget it? Is that why people choose them?

I am defending an eviction for a client who has given possession of the property (as of Nov. 30). Plaintiff’s complaint has one claim – possession. They did request relief for attorney’s fees. NJT/Final Hearing commenced 10/27, was only 30 min and was therefore continued to 12/20. Plaintiff had counsel at that time but they are no longer represented.  I want to file something notifying Court that Plaintiff claim is now moot, making sure that judgment is not entered that hurts (cont'd)..
