Now as we're going back to normal life I've realized that, more than ever before, I absolutely hate gigantic, slow dinners with a firey passion. Could be family, coworkers, whoever...I look forward to eating and leaving.

I am with ya, OP. Any captive audience setting gives me great anxiety!

I used to feel like that, but nowadays I feel time is too short and this experience may never come back and that allows me to relax and savor the moment

I’m the opposite, as long as there is some alcohol involved.

I’m not a fan of team dinners. I like the free food but don’t like pretending I care about all the superficial celebrity news, or forcing a smile to my PPMD/SM/M’s jokes.

Looking for a great non-fiction, relating to travel or world history (not just one moment in time). Could also be about the marketing world or memoirs of a business leader kinda thing.

Fiction wise I also like fantasy, paranormal, and romance. Some fave book series are the Black Gryphon from Mercedes Lackey, Game of Thrones, and From Jamaica Lane series. Similar books?

I’m relocating to London and would love to hear recommendations on neighborhoods. I am looking for an “urban village” feel (small coffee shops, not very touristy, can walk a dog and stroller) with a budget of 3K for a 1-2 bdr. My commute would be into Soho. I am currently looking at Notting Hill, Chelsea, and St John Woods, but I won’t be able to visit before my move. Any neighborhood recs?

Could someone please suggest how to handle this situation?
My manager (Technology Director) sees me as an emerging thread to his position and stopped sharing details / trying to avoid including me in visible projects etc.,
FYI - His manager is the division head and Managing Director.
Why I think my manager tries to move me out?
- I am 18 YOE with a technically strong background
- Upper mgmt is starting to identify me as the backup for all systems. My manager tries to move me out since then

My SO will put me on the spot sometimes (he is an extrovert) and say just talk to me (it will just be us two). He generally talks a lot and me so much. The second he says that my mind goes blank and for the life of me I can't remember anything to talk about. It's like stage fright. Is this normal? Anyone else experience this?
