Our family is keeping it very minimal this year because we are all kind of financially not doing great. We're going to focus more on the food and festivities and less on buying stuff that we don't need. I'm actually making all of my gifts this year and I'm really excited about it!

like

I really love that it’s all about family time anyway isn’t it society really has made it a lot different than what it should be

Craft fairs, early sales, homemade vanilla that has been in process for about 8 months. Hoping to be ready early also …. Without breaking the budget.

like

Love it I just love this time of year

We're doing more experience than gifts. Spending time with family is more important.

like

So true I love that idea

like

Oh I haven’t started. Heck, I haven’t even planned my budget yet. I’ll probably be one of those last minute shoppers.

like

Nothing wrong with that actually there’s a lot of sales last minute lol

I love shopping early and then getting it over with!

I received a verbal offer for a VP position at CCB line of business at JPMC in NYC two weeks ago. The recruiter asked for salary expectations but there was no number set. It’s been two weeks since and complete radio silence. I sent an email to a hiring manager a week ago but received no reply. It’s August so people could be on vacation but this is really strange. Has anyone had similar experience?

I work in a sucky IBM cic, making $54k. It’s a full time job with regular benefits and vacation etc, it’s working with government clients. The job isn’t what I applied for & constantly changes. I don’t like that, but I’m a full time employee which is “stable employment”. Btw, I’m in the DC area.

I just got hired for a government contract through Accenture for a Business Analyst role. Pay is $65 per hour. 3 year contract. Benefits too. No PTO. Holidays off with pay, after 90 days.

Thoughts?

trying out EY GPS aim for SC
Gov job range is 100-120k and would need to negotiate up pto otherwise I’d for sure decline

-any perspectives appreciated
