Fears of a recession are reasonably causing people to take a second look at their job security. Seeing as many lawyers are working in specialty tax within PA how many of you are worried about a potential slowdown/layoffs within specialty tax? If not why do you feel you won’t be as affected? No plans to fire anyone in the near future. All the focus and investment has been on diversifying into new markets and deepening our relationships. That is paying off nOW.

Trying to know more about OW and the work they do, I hear they are winning more work in my home country (not GCC) how can I connect with someone in OW?

They're the best firm in the region after BCG that's why
They were recently in an investment phase to enter accounts and build relationships. They have been firing but way less than other firms
Relied heavily on contractors who were not offered extensions instead of firing full time consultants

B1 - don't see coherence in your logic. How does hiring temp workers (contractors) lead to losing talent? That people with multiple offers could leave for better money exists at every company under that scenario.
As to if it is a better firm - can’t say. It is a unique firm and a very good one indeed. But hard to draw comparisons with any of our peer firms. They are all excellent firms in their own way.

They used to rely on external contractors, so they just reduce/ remove them.
Matter of time. It will hit OW but won’t be as bad as other firms because there’s a lag to their growth compared to others

There’s been small layoffs during mid year, just wait till September during EoY reviews. LoA has been offered to junior consultants with 25% pay, so they can kick you out during EoY reviews. Best firm… lmfao.

No layoffs but performance managed exits will increase for sure. Management has been signaling that reviews will be more like pre COVID times so we can expect ~8-10% attrition like in a normal year.
Thats what we got as well, welcome to the circus
