Maybe your client realized services from pwc aren't worth the price...

like

Serious suggestion: do your own research into potential hotels that match the cost of the shared apartment. You may also want to try to negotiate with a hotel for a better rate if your whole team stays there for an extended period?

like

That is NOT okay

like

We allow up to Manager to share corp apartments, and M-MD to have an apartment.... it's about best value to the client.

like

Also so many potential HR issues......

like

As long as it's in a decent city it's not that bad OP. Being able to leave your shit and stay on the weekends if you want/need are huge pluses. I didn't travel with a suitcase for an entire year.

like

Fuck that. You do you. If the partners underpriced the project that badly it's on them. Expenses should hardly move the needle on engagement margin even, when you have to eat a good portion. The firm should own the miscalculation and your Director should have your back, not punish the talent.

like

I believe the director is an alpha female looking for that D...eck

like

WHAT!

like

Fuck that

like

Barf. Huge red flag. You going to be doing team dinners at McDonald's, too? GTFO

like

And heck - we're talking nice apartments here.... I shared a 2000sq/ft brand new apartment with another C level guy back in the day, downtown Chicago, which was nicer than my place in NYC. Far nicer than the same hotel room... got to leave my stuff, got to stay weekends, and we weren't crammed in like sardines. Like I said though - I had a choice. I could have said no!

like

I would hate this. I sympathize. If the bathroom is attached to the room it's less bad but if not it's inhumane.

like

I would hate it too. Just not the roommate type.

like

Maybe I'm an anomaly, but I like my quiet time. Serviced apartments are fine, I just don't like sharing my space all the time.

like

As you should to reduce client costs .... unless you deeply object, and you should have the ability to object for any reason or no reason!

Can you share backgnd and profile of the director so that we can stereotype?

I'm pretty sure the fire doesn't allow corporate apartments as part of policy, let alone shared. The liability on the firm alone if something happened is enough to stop it.

@a1 that's cheap man . No offense to you

No offense taken and it's a personal choice too / you can say no! I've shared before and on long projects it helps prevent isolation
