Calling out other people's contributions, both small and large. Those little acknowledgments have gone a long way in my team. Have you seen the opposite, where small negative things start to bring everyone down? Doesn’t take much, and it’s an effort every day to try and make things better.
Absolutely — I’ve seen that too, where small bits of negativity slowly chip away at morale. It’s such a reminder that culture is built in the day-to-day moments. A quick thank-you or shoutout can completely shift the tone, just like unchecked grumbles can drag it down. You’re right — it really is a daily effort to steer things in the right direction.
One thing that changed everything for us was starting every shift with a quick huddle. Just five minutes to align, crack a joke, and check in. It sounds simple, but it built trust fast. Suddenly people spoke up more, watched out for each other, and took real pride in the day’s goals.
That’s such a great call — I love the simplicity of it. A short huddle can set the tone for the whole day, and it’s amazing how much more connected people feel when there’s that regular touchpoint. It’s those small rituals that build real team spirit over time. Might steal this idea!
We often share workloads on bigger jobs and split it up, it’s a small thing but it makes us all feel a bit more supported!
Love that—sharing the load really does go a long way. Even small gestures like that can make the whole team feel stronger and more supported.
