What's the salary range for a director at the Gilead Sciences foundation? There is a position perfect for me, but I don't want to throw my hat in the ring if starting salary isn't $180-190k. Also, any thoughts on the stability of their philanthropic commitment? There's talk of a recession; I don't want to go private to be cute a few months later.
McKinsey & Company I am entering in the interview rounds with McKinsey and wondering if anyone had tips, online course advices or materials to share!
Also would anyone be interested or knows anyone to do a coaching session that has already worked in Mckinsey? Thanks! McKinsey & Company @

Salaries for ops manager is in the mid 70s to low 80s. Talked to a recruiter for this position last week she heard my current comp and said they will not be able to afford me :P
Equity
I heard the application process is a scam. They make you do an intense analysis and prepare some presentation. You do the interview and then they don't select anyone. Heard this from 2 separate folks. Not surprising from Uber.
So people who attended these prestigious universities and have these positions are making 70-80k? That's hard to believe
^Read Glassdoor.com @EY1 is correct about the comp.
15 months
They definitely pay less than normal, they also brand many positions as manager positions when it's really a glorified baby-sitting job for drivers. Their equity grant is large but do you really think they'll IPO at an even higher price than what the market is currently valuing them at? I think it's going to go down, especially once the preferred stock holders get paid.
I had a friend go to Uber two years ago after one year at the the firm. That was the right scenario to go in on. I would only head there now if you're going to get great compensation at a position that is worth your time. Also, there's very little in the sense of work-life balance, so be warned.
Can confirm- salary offered was $84k for Ops Mgr. Found about exact salary on interview day. Went through a grueling applications process including an analytics test before the interview, an analytics test on site with results presented to a panel. Overall I thought I did really well. Was interviewed by people 2-3 years out of undergrad who were pretty condescending. Were just looking for key catchphrase and buzzwords in my responses. Hated the whole process. Got two job offers with pay more than twice that in a month after this sorry affair. Btw, I did not get the Uber offer. So a complete waste of time and bad taste left in my mouth
Just been browsing profiles on linkedin and it seems a lot of these positions at Uber are filled by people from consulting firms. So maybe they are selecting people just not your friends?
^D2 is right. It's going to be an ugly IPO "down round" for Uber
Had an interview for that operations and logistics position. Trust me, we are way overqualified and would be extremely underpaid
OP seems like an asshole
Thanks for the insights guys. Very good to know as I weigh exit opps. @d3 what are you mad about?
Had a colleague interview for an Ops Manager position. The absolute maximum they would offer him was $80K so he declined.
So where are you now @s&2?
Just started with tech company in Bay Area
How long were you at s&?
@S&2 Not surprising! What a scam!
