Over time, I’ve become more aware of how often reproducibility challenges come up in biomedical research. Even well-designed studies can be difficult to replicate across labs due to subtle differences in models, reagents, or analysis methods. It’s made me much more cautious in how I interpret findings. How does your lab or organization actively address reproducibility?

My current role doesn’t worry much about that but in previous ones it was a critical piece
The simplest way for my previous work was to send my methods to a collaborator and have them attempt it

It makes it much more likely that it’s real (my work was protein kinetics so the methods were easily translated)

Does anyone work in EC/VC (whether at a firm, a fund, or at a start-up)? I’m a general corporate associate and thinking of lateraling to a firm that focuses on this type of work, with the goal being to eventually go in-house. Would love to hear about any experiences.

I’m in my 4th year at a small plaintiffs’ firm. Past two years I’ve received meager raises (5k) and terrible bonuses (3k). My boss prides himself on allowing me to gain experience so I have more courtroom experience than most attorneys with twice the experience. As I’ve applied for other firms, I’ve been denied interviews based on how my boss is perceived in the community. I’ve gathered professional references from opposing attorneys and other attorneys we work with but still can’t land. Help

Ex-MBB, recently started a new MM PE role, but had also applied to HBS in case the PE route doesn’t work out. Thankfully, both the PE and HBS applications were successful. Now I need to decide whether to leave my current role after only 6-10 months to go to business school, or try to defer the MBA.

What should I do? I’m torn between wanting to do MBA at an earlier age vs ensuring good PE employability post MBA(either at current firm or other). Not sure how well 6-10 Mos pre-MBA PE exp is valued
