Forcing me to use my standing desk

Hello RSM coworkers! I am thrilled to be moving to RSM into a Scheduler roll. I just found out yesterday and want to be as prepared as possible in the next steps.
So here are my questions.
How long does the background study take? I'm guessing admin staff have a study that is faster and less complicated than someone in Tax ect.
When training at home what did you need that wasn't supplied by RSM? My home office is well stocked but I want to be as prepared as possible.
Thanks in advance!

It’s not a checklist. It’s a discussion about your business case, your clients, your plan for your first year and subsequent years.
Thanks. How do you make the plan and business case sound less contrived? Our firm is growing aggressively so there is opportunity to support more partners - so more of the same. But then I can bring additional capabilities to the partnership. What types of things are expected in a “plan for the year”?
1. Why do you want to be a partner here
If that answer isn’t compelling, and we can smell BS ten miles away, then you’ve lost me but I have a higher bar than most others
2. Where and how are you sourcing clients and projects
Immediate follow up to 2. based on answer (e.g. “then why haven’t you done that as a SM/D?”)
I hate we don’t do these anymore at PwC in the US.
You need to have some conviction behind your business case, which means knowing some numbers cold. For example, mine was about opening up a new region for my industry group. I got the question, “How big do you think this can be?” I was able to answer something like “$15M by year two. Because we will have two anchor accounts at around $5M each, and that will allow us to pick up another $5M at smaller accounts.”
Two additional notes: 1) I was only able to do this because one of my mentors asked me about it in a “mock interview”, then talked me through an answer. So, do as many of those as you can. 2) Reality was nothing like this case…the market shifted and internal roles changed. It’s not about sticking to the plan, it’s about being able to think through growing a business.
Sales is about selling a dream, no matter who you are selling to, in this case, the partners in the audience wants to know how making you partner can improve their lives
Why is NOW the right time to be a Partner ?
Thanks. I have also hear the “what is your platform?” question too.
