Planning a trip to Japan, primarily Tokyo. What would be a good length of time to stay and some good places to visit while being there?

I'm going to Japan too, but not to Tokyo. if you like ghibli studios movies, the ghibli studios museum is worth to check it out. just make sure you book the ticket one month ahead of time.

Went to Tokyo and Kyoto for 4 days a couple years ago. Totally doable. Tokyo imperial palace, train stations, fish market, Park Hyatt, then just wander around the neighborhoods and you will get into adventure. Eat at the vending machine ramen place. Go to the robot show.

Take the Shinkansen to Kyoto. Check out the temples. Go on the river, philosophers walk.

It’s a fascinating place, it’s like about as “advanced” as the us, but just a little different, strange, there’s not much construction, people aren’t that friendly, it’s cold, food is good, you don’t need to stay very long to get the idea.

It depends a lot on how long you’re going for and what you like to get out of a trip. I’ve been to Japan a few times, planning another trip soon. Feel free to DM me

I would plan one month for a proper trip through Japan. In case you do only Tokyo, I would recommend one week.

(Assuming you want to dive a bit into the culture and not just cross off sights seen from a todo list)

I am scheduled to fly from NYC to Mumbai via Paris next Wednesday (Jan 5) for a ~10 day trip. Have any of you, your family, friends, etc. flown a similar route (I.e. from US to India via Europe) in the past week? If so, what is the arrival process (Covid test, quarantine requirements, etc.)? I’ve had all recommended vaccine shots and I’m only in Paris for a 2 hour layover (not leaving the airport). Any information on this would be greatly appreciated!

Has anyone ever heard of this type of real estate private equity fund structure:

-One LLC, so only one PPM
-Multiple investors that can be onboarded anytime
-Multiple investments that investors can determine whether or not they want to invest in
-One K-1 per investor based on their investments and income
-Ability for the Sponsor/Fund to invest directly, indirectly and in equity, debt, Pref, etc.
To me this seems extremely cumbersome and would require multiple classes of (cont’d)

Hey everyone! I’m interviewing for an HR Generalist role at a Fintech company, this will be their first HR hire and will be reporting to the CFO. I got invited to a second round interview to meet the team to ensure that it’s a good culture fit. I would love to know any thoughts on what I should ask or do to ensure that I am great fit. I left a good impression on the CFO but would to see what else so can do when meeting with the team since it’ll be a 2.5 hour meet up. I’m really excited!

If you’re not competent enough to solve real problems in the organization, create a few minor problems that you can solve and look like a hero.

But you have to ensure the org feels the pain of your decision before promising to fix it. It’s like the three parts of a magic trick: the pledge where you float your idea, the turn where you inflict your idea, and the prestige where you fake a way to fix the mess you made on purpose.

Only works managing up, tho.

I left practice 12 years ago. I became the Director of International Programs at a law school, which was great for a while. But, the bureaucracy eventually got to me. While there, I started a podcast called The Lawyer’s Escape Pod, interviewing lawyers who’d switched careers. And that put me on my new path. I now coach lawyers who want to ditch the traditional work world and start creative or coaching businesses. Never been happier.

Question on UK visa-
My partner will be traveling often to London, once a month for an year starting September. He is getting his visa through work (10 years, multiple entry, 6 months max stay, cost some $1000).

I have applied for standard tourist visa in the past and they are usually short term. It could be max 6 months, but they see your itinerary and allocate you few months around the itinerary

Is there a way to get 6 months multiple entry visa, if I were to join him once in a while.

Just got a “Sheraton Vacations” special offer to basically get 5 nights at a Florida property for $250.

I read the fine print and other than a need to be flexible in terms of when you book, it doesn’t seem like there is a catch.

Anyone familiar with this “promotion” and what the downside might be? Or are they just looking to drive revenue to their other areas (restaurants, spa, etc) with a cheap room?
