Thank you for your vulnerability, I know these are tough rejections to get, and especially share.
I’ve been rejected by FAANG before and felt similar. We aren’t alone!
In the same boat. Google, Salesforce, LinkedIn, Pepsi, + others. Made it to many final rounds but no offers. I was open with friends/family about my job search and where I had interviews and it made it sting doubly to have to tell them I didn’t get the job. I’m taking a break from applying and will try again with renewed energy in a few weeks.
Thank you! Senior Associate, S&O. A little shy of 3 YOE. $130 base + 90k equity. ~150 TC
Hang in there! I’m in the same boat but it only takes 1
Thank you, I love the positivity. Much appreciated.
Waitlisted at every bschool I applied (7) and rejected at 3 Faang after final rounds in the last year. Always the chauffeur never the bride..
Yep, I failed too lmao. Only getting offers from consulting. get ME INTO TECH INDUSTRY PLS
These are really competitive companies. The entire big 4, MBB and T2 consulting cohorts are likely gunning for this, on-top of internal candidates + people in the same function from other companies.
Failure is almost expected. Just continue to be persistant and introspective throughout the process.
You got into PWC, assuming from a campus program? Now that was a true crap shoot - 000's of non-differentiated students going for like 5 roles. You've had some luck before and you'll have it again
Not from campus, was already experienced when I got hired as an associate :)
Applied to over a 100 companies during my search - many of which had referrals. I probably got 3-4 interviews total. Got my current role randomly cold applying on LinkedIn - all it takes it one! Keep your head up!
Thank you, this is EXACTLY where I am! So relatable! Good to know cold applies can work :)
Hello! I sympathize with you. I reached round 3 of interviews for another role at Facebook and roles at Twitter and LinkedIn all around the same time frame...and then was rejected by all of them last week.
What I remind myself is that everything happens for a reason. Keep a positive mindset. Not getting these roles just means that there is a much better fit for us elsewhere at another time.
And also, NEVER put a role on a high pedestal. Just go with the flow. If you get the role, you get the role. If not, you'll get a role eventually.
We got this!
Congrats OP!! What type of work is it?
I recently moved to industry for a 50% TC raise. Took 2 years to land the job. Got 4 rejections from the company before getting accepted for an interview. Interviewed with several other companies as well to no offer. Be patient. It’s a tough process and a highly competitive market.
Ideally I would have done some diligence on the roles and people I would interview to tailor my approach. However, I didn’t know anyone that I could network with and was passively applying to jobs. I did update my resume for each role based on the job description. It turns out each hiring manager was looking for something specific in terms of experience on my resume. I ended up getting an interview from a former consultant that was interested in consulting experience and a couple of types of projects on my resume. When you are applying to industry roles at large F100s (even strategy departments), you are often competing with people that have many more years of experience (whether it is industry only, industry + consulting, or consulting only) and experience with the type of activity the company will want you to perform. So in this case, I think it was more about fit from an initial resume screening before I was able to get an interview.

Dude, same. The exit opps from consulting are overblown.
I’m having a hard time finding a job in industry. Honestly, if this is the norm then I can see consulting rapidly declining in popularity among future MBA grads.
Is this just for post-MBA though? Feels like post-UG all these postings ask for minimum 2 YoE in management consulting or investment banking.
One thing I did at the beginning of my job search when I was getting rejected was politely ask the recruiter or hiring manager for feedback - a few actually gave me great advice about how to tailor my resume or how to target specific roles. Helped me land a couple offers down the road. Still at uncle price though

Did you do this even for cold applications? (guessing you had to identify the recruiter/hiring manager after)

FB,LinkedIn, Google, Amazon final rounds all rejected in the last month. Have another Facebook end of April though. Losing hope!

The recruiter reached out to me. I think it’s fine if you re apply. That rule of not applying for a while really applies to engineering/coding. The Facebook hiring manager asked me actually look for other manager roles too and he will connect me but I’m just too defeated right now. Keep trying
I'm asking seriously... can we get some replies here to answer the question of "companies that pay FAANG equivalent salary"? I'll start -
Salesforce
Microsoft
T-mobile (yes, they do)
Hang in there OP. Got rejected from FAANG last week, was really gutted.
Hang in there and learn from the failures. Without the rejections you may have never truly appreciated how coveted these roles are. WHEN you land one, you’ll be realize that the journey has paid off
I’ve been at the application rejection for a while and finally got an offer after 1.5 years of recruiting. Don’t give up! So much luck goes into recruiting and ultimately it ends up sort of being a number game. You got this
You are definitely not alone. I was also rejected by Google, LinkedIn, Amazon, Facebook and others after going through virtual onsites/final rounds with all of them in the last 6 months. There is just a lot of competition.
This is appealing me on so many different levels. At this point of the career (12yrs experience), one part of my brain says "You are better than many other candidates. You have paid your dues in consulting, in MBA and industry before. You should go to FAANG at xxx level"... other part of the brain "Dude! You have got rejected 26500 times now! You ain't better. You gonna get burned out in Consulting or you gonna have to get that entry level position in some non-FAANG thing"
😢😢😢
Fan-fucking-tastic! one more FAANG rejection!! awesome!!
Stay strong - you got this
You will get the job that’s meant for you and look back and be thankful the others didn’t work out.
