Can a robot really do your job?
Ahh get a second job. Thanks Wired.

Why do we give awards to students for ideas that will never happen/are ridiculous? Netflix will never make an ad unit on their app, that would sell you Burger King burgers when burgers appear in movies or shows. That's just stupid. How did this win? What am I missing?

An anti-racist organization whose most famous work is objectifying women to sell the slaughter of cows. Do less performative good and start doing more actual good
If there is no tangible follow up to this post (donations, mutual fund, probono work) then this ain’t it.
I saw WK had a very genuine and proactive approach to acknowledging indigenous communities by most importantly, actually helping them instead of just arm chair posting.
Agreed. I’m wondering if WK focusing too much on their “charitable deed”, makes it better though? Anything’s better than this 72 post though
“This Indigenous People's Day we'd like
to share with you, how we honor the Indigenous with an excerpt from our land acknowledgment agreement we use in our trainings here at 72andSunny. In our journey to becoming an Anti-Racist organization, we understand that a step toward correcting the stories and practices that erase Indigenous people's history and culture, starts
with acknowledging their lands and exalting their truth.
Across New York and Los Angeles, our offices
occupy the land of Lenapehoking and Tongva
nations. We extend gratitude to them for the land on which we gather, work, live, and create. We are compelled to acknowledge that the indigenous communities are still here and to take action against harm and wrongdoing intended for them in addition
to doing work that embraces collective healing and sustainability of humanity and the earth.”
Y’all this is ADVERTISING. There is no ladder long enough to get us out of the hole we’ve dug.
If that’s a reference to Dante’s Inferno then I wholeheartedly agree.
Oh god

I don’t hate it. It feels slightly genuine.
But also, how many Indigenous people do they employee/ how much do they donate to Indigenous charities?
Right- gratitude for land is not enough. It almost doesn’t make sense. “Thank you for the land you once occupied”?
I am acknowledging that I am driving a stolen car. I know who originally owned it. I do not plan to give it back or anything but I want to thank Bob for the car that was stolen from him that I now drive.
That part
I once saw copy for a resort that said, “Nestled on an ancient Indian burial ground, our Tom Fabio-designed 18-hole championship course…”
Ha, I forget. I think somewhere in Arizona or the California desert. And it’s Fazio not Fabio.

Are they honoring the communities with rent? Words and honor cost them nothing like thoughts and prayers. 🤔🙄
we are grateful for the land but we wouldn't give it back nor even incorporate y'all to our every day 😂 this is lame but im aware they don't know any better
If they are supporting a cause then I’m all for it. Plenty of great organizations that help native people. Look at all the work WK did with AICF.
I don’t see it as signaling. I’m giving the benefit of the doubt that they are supporting.
Advertising time of death is this post.
At some point, land acknowledgments stop being an awareness thing and just look like they're bragging.
You native?
