Hi All, My sister has done Computer Science engineering Bachelor degree and has 5 years of work experience in India. She is applying for MBA at https://www.kenan-flagler.unc.edu/programs/mba/full-time-mba/ and https://kelley.iu.edu/programs/full-time-mba/academics/majors-minors/marketing.html. Her overall goal is to get into Software Product management. Any suggestions if any of these MBA’s can open path in the desired space or if she is better of doing an MS in Comp engg. to further develop deeper Technology skills. Thanks
Hi,
I'm currently having an offer from BlueOptima and Cohesity and am conflicted between the two.
I have offers in the SDET profile.
Cohesity Inc is providing me MTS and @BlueOptima is providing SDET-1.
Glassdoor reviews more of less place the two companies almost equally, and the package being offered by the two is almost in the same range.
My preferences include:
Learning opportunities in the role.
Company's work environment.
Company's growth prospects, are also a consideration.
YOE: 2 years

Seriously? Quality of work dictates promotions, not length of time.
However long it takes you to meet the skills expectations for the new role 👌🏻
If you didn’t get promoted in the first 6 months you’re never going to get promoted at all. Just get out now.
Your agency and location matters too. If you’re at the only agency in town then they have no pressure.
The faster you get promoted, the faster you’ll be pushed out of the industry. Slow your roll if you want to work past 35.
Is this true? Even for media folks? I know people that get promoted every year. They went from Analyst to VP in less than 5 years and they do not have anything to show for it (no technical skills or other outside experience). Is this a tactic with leadership to promote all the “not so great” or “mediocre at best” employees so they “destroy" their careers/chances in the long run?
I’ve promoted strategists at 6 months and not at the 3 year mark [at that point they get the hint]. time is not the deciding factor. it’s skill, potential, quality of work, independence, [occasionally need], etc
18-24 months if you're doing great work and having constant feedback/communication with your manager/supervisor etc.
Its doing a good job and your place having a different job you can do, and the money to give you a raise.
If youre at a small place, or a place no one is leaving, then the "promotion" would just be a different title, not bigger responsibilities.
Just concentrate on doing a really great job and people will notice. Nobody wants to think youre just marking days off your calendar.
