Potentially have the opportunity to move from a large media agency over to sales on the vendor side. I'm feeling conflicted as I think I'd be good at sales, but I'm not sure about the hours/hustle required. I'm pretty miserable re: the work/life balance and volume of work at the agency, so I don't want to make the jump if sales will be more of the same. Has anyone out there made this transition and have any regrets/lack thereof? Any advice is welcome!

I am a 2nd year associate at a plaintiff’s firm specializing in toxic tort cases (individual). I’ve had the opportunity to be third chair on a trial, and will likely be second chair in an upcoming trial. However, given the track record of the firm and the amount of money at stake in each case, I am afraid I won’t get any first chair experience, if any, for at least another 5-7 years. I am considering staying at the firm but trying to get trial experience through side Pro Bono work. Thoughts?

A few years in and I’m finding that the people who have made their entire persona “advertising creative” are secretly the most miserable. I’m taking it as a lesson to treat this as a job and not a calling because it’s ultimately pretty empty.

It’s hard to be motivated when rounds of layoffs happen and you see all your friends leave. But one thing that’s gotten me through all of this is working out. And when I say workout I mean the most pathetic, sad, barely completed beginner-level cardio dance routines. I’ve somehow forced myself to move while on lockdown and it’s somehow forced me to feel better. Whatever you’re doing, wherever you are: get up and move even if you don’t finish or end up going on a walk. Pls take care of yourself❤️
