Is it SAFE joining Wipro as technical lead (B3) with 37LPA? Knowing that package is pretty high as compared to collogues in same band. HR is not ready to give project manager(C1) position.

The answer is yes - these kinds of requests occur all of the time, and typically are driven by some other motive that may not be obvious (see above questions)
Are they trying to sell another engagement after? Is the client on time with payments?

Not the answer I wanted but do appreciate the responses. Guess I'm just feeling frustrated because there were a lot of long nights to get the project stable. Same thing on my last project. Burnt out and team is always asking for more.
Sometimes it's the client requesting for it.
OP - I'm sure this is frustrating. I personally believe that project leadership should be transparent, so it likely would help to ease your feelings if your leadership could help you understand and contextualize this request. However, project leaders are in a tricky position - they want to tell their teams enough to keep them working and motivated, but they also need to filter out all of the (insane amounts of) noise they get from every direction (client and internal). I don't know what the situation on your project is. It sounds like it's stable now but may have had issues earlier, which is why there is a desire to arguably over-demonstrate a commitment to success. If you're close with one of your project leaders, you may want to take this person aside and just ask about this in a non-accusatory manner.
Not surprising. If flying out on Friday, I definitely leave by midday so I can be home early evening.
