Autonomy, large income potential, not sucked into details, meet interact with new people, job is focused on helping people (vs faulting them as in Audit).
Most people tell me I should be in sales. I was too chicken shit as a 20 something to do it. Now I am 43, my third role as a VP of Internal Audit at a public company and I make great money. It is too late to make the switch.
Don’t be like me. If you think you have future in sales, do it before you go to far up the ladder.

Yes
This just reminds me of the pursuit of happyness
5:00 a.m. is late if you're selling certain devices (pacemakers come to mind). All the device reps I worked with in college were kinda amazing people though and had a large amount of autonomy.

I brother has been a sales for medical equipment at Siemens. Good money. Need to be very very very social.

Medical device companies are EVIL

Find a company that has a diversified portfolio of devices. I saw some companies take a hit because they didn’t have any devices that were used in ER situations and with COVID had a decline because patients were not having those non emergency procedures done.

Pros: good money, lots of autonomy, opportunity to meet new people regularly
Con: some people will try to tell you that you’re the devil and that device manufacturers/distributors are run by satan himself
Coming from someone who defends medical device companies in litigation 🙃

The belief that all companies put profit over safety. Think big pharma and the opioid crisis, but with medical devices instead of drugs.
Of course it’s not true in all cases, but the belief is out there.
