What’s a reasonable salary bump to look for if I’m trying to jump from one big four to another? Currently at 100k with 4.5 YOE at DT
Hi all, I’m looking for Product manager opportunities in insurtech, lifetech companies, have almost 4yrs in consulting for insurance, please let me know if you know any opportunities/ can referral.
10% salary increase to jump to industry as an A2. Is it worth trying to negotiate for more?
M7 folks: planned to do a stint in FAANG before MBA, have offer for data analyst role (not PM or CorpDev). Is it true AdCom taps folks (alumni) in FAANG to see how impressive roles are off-paper? Planned to spin the experience as strategic in my app, but was told HSW will know what the more impressive rolls are regardless of resume bullets....is this real life😂
BCG people- how many people actually max out the full end year bonus? What's the more common expected end year % for associates? Thanks! I'm trying to weigh some options :)
I'm falling apart mentally due to stress causing issues on my mental health, but I'm trying to stay strong because I desperately need a promotion.
SF Bay Area small firm associates with 3 years experience or less: what are you making in base salary? Annual bonus? What’s your billable hours requirement (if you have one)? How many hours do you work per week on average? Are you plaintiff or defense side? Trying to get a feel for what average compensation looks like and what factors into it.
Fellow Fishes - I am seeking referral in Atlassian.. got laid off last week (SM, 15YOE) looking next gig actively. Thank You 🙏🏼
Anybody have any insight (good bad or indifferent) about Davis Wright Tremaine in NYC? Any word on their remote policies, comp, hours, etc?
How much equity would you expect when joining a series A startup with ~50 FTES? A few pieces of info: role is D of strategy. Company is in healthcare (non-biotech). Highish COL city (if that matters). They’re offering what feels like decent cash comp (~200k).
Tips on negotiating an offer? Percentage increase if the role is a step up? (e.g. Senior Art Director?) I'm always scared of them not wanting me enough and retracting the offer
Failed IVF for a third time. Used up my lifetime insurance allowance, and each trial now costs $23,000. Eating through life savings and don’t know what to do...
Does anyone have a suggestion or could point me in the direction of a potential volunteer speaker who could speak about mental health issues and self care to a school board and staff group, virtually? (I’m a school attorney)
Tax savvy people, i have questions. my employer reduced everyones salary during the first 6 months of covid, but offered a “bonus” (aka back to normal rate) if you were required to travel during this time. How will the temporary salary cut + travel bonus affect my filing? Idk I’m feeling petty
Need a gut check here. Got an offer from Deloitte for $7k (~9%) more than I currently make at the same consultant level. Doesn’t seem reasonable to make that jump for no title increase and not a huge salary increase, right?
It's a little after Christmas, but my brother was admitted to an MBA program in Canada. What's a good but useful congratulatory gift, fit for a Management candidate?
Tiger Analytics hiring for 3 roles with 1+ years of experience - Data Analyst, Data Engineer and Consultant. DM if interested.

If I accept the promotion to Partner/Principal what's the least number of years I could work without it being a financial mistake. I have an opportunity to do something completely unrelated that's my passion, but I feel like that's the wrong decision when I'm this close. The other opportunity should still be there for 2-3 years
Hi there, Been in consulting for 18 years, 13 years in offshore delivery positions and 5 years in US. Have been thinking to switch from consulting into low stress jobs, no travel and decent salary. Kind of exhausted chasing deals and aggressive deliveries. Have to be in US, can not relocate due to family considerations. And how to get to those options if there are any? Thank you..!
I work in a group that has had to come in to the office regularly during COVID (lots of work with original documents and wet ink signatures). It’s real estate and title companies still require wet ink documents. One junior has refused to come in because he says he’s concerned about COVID. We all wear masks, close our doors, and socially distance. We’ve all had to pick up the slack for him. Just found out he’s taking his second vacation during COVID and visiting family in FL. I could scream.
Why are those with vaccine hesitancy being chastised because they are not comfortable with the EMERGENCY AUTHORIZED USE of it? I have no problem getting vaccinated once it is fully approved by the FDA. Not everyone who you believe to be “antivax” is actually antivax. Some people just aren’t comfortable with an experimental drug being put into their bodies. Let the FDA fully vet it and determine what the long term effects really are, if any!!!!
2 months on the bench now, and I'm starting to freak out. Projects are picking people that are either local or have more relevant experience than me.
Interview Question: Understanding how many layers we usually have for interviews, how do you flex yourself when you are pitching the professionals to get the position? Do you usually repeat the same history told on the previously round or try to present “new assets”?
Anyone who interviewed with Goldman Sachs recently, how did the salary negotiations go? The couple of calls I received from HR, they want to pin down a number before even proceeding for the interviews. So just wondering if they negotiate it when giving an offer.
What job opportunities exist outside of agency world for account people? I feel like all client jobs require an MBA or 5+ years of experience. I can’t see myself in agency world past 2 years from now
Question for all but especially Europe/Germany based fish: Appropriate way to handle the “how much do you want/range” question? Not desperate for the job but do really want it. Concerned with searching during COVID. Only a handful of consulting YOE behind me (but tons of industry exp).
Any insight into Mastercard Advisors? Have a new grad opportunity there. My start date at a B4 strat got postponed so decided to interview around. I'm interested in data + analytics and would want to go into industry eventually, but conflicted because unlike BA programs at CapOne or Visa, you're still working for an external client. Feel like there will be a broader variety of projects in B4 and while I'm casually interested in fintech, I don't want to get pigeonholed in FS so early on
Hey fishes, based on your own experience during Covid, any idea on how much time it takes under standard processing for H1B transfers? Mine was filed mid September.
Story for the ages. Got the airport at 3pm , flight was cancelled after a 3 hour delay, no flights available till Saturday, and bag is checked in at the airport so I am SOL. But I got an Old Fashion
What differences have to seen between consulting and industry in regards to optics? I.E don’t tell a person you’re going on PTO it looks bad, don’t question certain persons opinion etc
