Think about your lifestyle too and what kind of projects they do. DDV services a pretty broad array of M&A, across due diligence through post merger integration and systems integration. Hours are often pretty brutal.
D1 - where are you now?
Please don’t take PwC DDV - sweat shop galore and very hierarchical - most of the (recent) partners are disrespectful pricks!
Coach
PwC DDV folks come on over!
As a former DDV person I can say that leaving DDV was my favorite part of my time there. It is brutal with respect to hours, horrible culture where bullies are promoted and they burn through dudes who put their head down and work.
If you are going to go to DDV then squeeze them for all you can right now. The cohort model means you’ll be working insane hours but get paid as the same dude in a less brutal consulting practice who goes home by 6 pm.
I cannot emphasize how much you’ll hate your life at DDV.
100% it's awful for the amount of pay and wlb
DDV manager for 130k? Do you have an MBA? If no MBA, it's OK but kind of low ball given how desperate they are for folks now. If MBA, that's insanely low.
Salary in DDV isn’t negotiable due to their cohort model. You can however negotiate level which determines salary. Leadership has mentioned market adjustments (increases) but no mention of the magnitude. You would likely get that bump due to cohort model alignment
Push to double your DDV signing. They'll do it because they're desperate for people
i’m in DDV - we do a lot of ODD. we do work a lot. it’s known that EY is poaching all the talent, they are working to align us to strat& cohort for july 1
Will leave at the next opportunity I get even if it makes taking a small payout. Culture can't be as bad as it is in ddv
This seems crazy low. Over 2 years ago I had a post MBA offer as an associate for $150k. I know you said non MBA but that still seems like a huge disparity
If it was consulting, sounds like your title was low, but pay comparative. All post-mba offers I’ve heard of in b4 consulting were SA+ with similar salary.
I know the titles are not equivalent between firms but that is low if you have experience. I made 150s as Senior Consultant at D without an MBA. Have you applied to Deloitte M&A? They pay higher
Deloitte works you hard. Doubt it’s any better in terms of WLB
Boutique manager. That’s way too low for a M in DDV, which is not know for its great culture. They’re very busy and reaching out to everybody.
If you really want to do post-deal work then maybe DDV. I’d definitely push hard for 150k absolutely minimum.
Deloitte was $160k in 2020 vs $150k PwC. Surprisingly MBA salaries didn’t jump that much between 2014 and 2018 or so but starting to jump more now because of competition. Similar phenomenon was seen in big law where $160k was the standard for a long time then jumped to $180k overnight then $190k the next year.
What do you want to do / end goal ?
Negotiate a sign on at boutique if possible.
Salary’s are significantly changing July 1 for DDV. Hearing they will be close to S& to compete with the market.
Hmm wonder which partners are awful
