Anyone here ever struggled working at a private practice during your first year as a licensed counselor? I work well with the clients but I find it difficult to accept the pay I receive for the amount of work I do and is required. Lately, I realize I haven’t been putting in much effort towards paperwork because of the pay I receive.

Recently received my CSW license and have started working as a therapist at an outpatient clinic. Is a starting salary of $64,500 fair? I am supposed to aim for 28 billing hours (get paid if clients show or not) a week with 12 hours of admin time for other tasks. Thanks for any input.

Can't really share this with anyone else, so thank you fellow fish for indulging. 3 years in, finally at a point where I can comfortably work 40 hours a week the last quarter+, and still be a trusted team member and major contributor. Normal tasks and collaborations now take me a fraction of the time compared to my first couple years / others on the team. 6 YOE and my TC has also gone up a lot from low 200s last year to high 200s this year. Hope to keep this optimal mix of WLB & progression 🙏

1099 or w-2 ? I have been given the option though the company prefers w-2. It’s a day rate booking couple of months or more (no end date). Does anyone else have “email social anxiety”? Not with writing emails that have to do with content/work I did, but when I’m “just checking in” and doing vaguely unsaid social things I’ve never understood well.
I feel super awkward and read too into things, it takes me 30+ min for a simple friendly email to a manager or above and I get worked up about it.
