Hi all,
I’m looking to relocate to Seattle. Does anyone know if any of the Big 4 are still recruiting campus hires to start in Summer/Fall 2023? I’m open to either Audit or Tax, but I have internship experience in Tax.
I applied and received an offer at a Big 4 in San Francisco (campus hire), but I’ve decided Seattle is the better fit for me as it will be closer to my hometown and family in Vancouver.
Thanks!

My probation was supposed to be of 6 months (i.e until June 2022), but today I received a notification in Workday that I have passed my probation.
How is this possible?
I was planning to resign within probation for 30days notice period. But now this happened. Will this change my notice period to 90days??

So the moral of the story is "compliance is important"? I think we can all agree in principle, but I'm guessing the black experience in America leads many to fear cops. I think the moral of the story should have been one of the first lines - we should all try to see things from others POV and show some humility. He learned something that day but I don't think he'll stop fighting for black lives, he might just have a differently informed viewpoint.
Doesn’t this kind of prove the point around more training though? I remember seeing an info graphic around how required police training was lower than a lot of other professions

Agree in principle but very curious how compliance or non compliance with unlawful orders play into this. When you think back to some of the higher profile deaths, the orders weren’t lawful which usually starts the confrontation.
Even if it's an unlawful order you need to comply and hopefully have a chance to deal with it later. Hopefully judges and lawyers can help. What does not complying get you? You seriously think you will win an argument with a cop or get away? ESPECIALLY knowing that some who don't comply end up dead, there is no reason to not comply with an officer.
Every situation gets instantly worse when people resist. The Atlanta example is perfect. They spent 30 min calmly and respectfully speaking with him. They informed him he was under arrest and calmly started cuffing him. He then went crazy and the interaction went from 0 to 100 in seconds. Had he simply let them put the cuffs on, he would have been out on bail a few hours later.
Perhaps, Advisor 1, Rayshard was also making the choice to live and thought he'd have a better chance living by fleeing because his experience with cops has been completely different than yours.
*I* would never resist arrest because I'm a white woman who grew up with a cop for a dad. But I know his life has been very different than mine.
Even though he fought back, he did not deserve to die. He was unarmed (taser DOES NOT count) and he was drunk and not thinking rationally. He would have run, stumbled and passed out. He did not deserve to die.
