Recently decided I want to leave big law this year. I would prefer to go in-house, but would be open to government or mid-sized. That said, I am struggling to network in DC as I have worked in Dallas until February (same firm, but moved here because my fiancée got a job here). I’ve been doing corporate/M&A for 2.5 years. Any suggestions on networking in a new city (or specifically DC)?

Oof quite a market change. Do you have law school connections in DC? Maybe NYC? I’d cast a wide net over the east coast…

like

I did the student honors program with the SEC during law school and have a handful of connections in the area through that. Unfortunately I went to law school in Texas so the vast majority of my classmates stayed in state. But good point about the east coast more generally. I grew up in the northeast so I’ll start working some of those connections.

I’m here in DC. There is tons of networking here. Are you connected with your college/law school alumni group? Have you found alumni via LinkedIn? Kept in touch with anyone from the SEC honors program? There are some PE firms here but I’m not sure about other in house opportunities or how to land them.

Okay so, its been a while since I've been seeing this in Linkedin:
The Job requirement says its Entry Level, but the experience it requires is always 6 year+... like how would a fresher match that.. should I've started coding at 6th grade or what?

I understand that it's a way of "SEO" in LinkedIn but it just discourages us freshies.

Actually not sure if this post belongs in this bowl but.. it is what it is?
P.s. I still apply to these because what's the worst that could happen... right?

Hi fishes, I need some guidance.

I am currently into the SAP Security domain and I absolutely do not have any interest in it. I am planning to shift to development and have started on some courses on my own.

My question is, is there any future prospects in SAP UI5 and Fiori? Since my background is in SAP, I assume it will make a domain switch easier.

Or should I move into the JS-React path since there seems to be a lot of demand? But my worry is about my lack of actual work experience
