@A2 that's next level shit. Also @kaan just make it so your laptop doesn't auto lock after 15. I've legit left my laptop open in my apartment and gone to the pool for like 2 hours and I was "available" the whole time.
@E1 and others... All major companies have their Windows GPO policies set at the domain level that pushes down to your laptops regularly which will overwrite any changes you've made OR (more commonly) your access privileges do not allow you to mess with the settings themselves. I miss the days of having local admin...

Master hack - if you're gonna be away for a long time but want to appear busy. Sign into a conference call with nobody but yourself on it. Your status will read "in a conference call"

@D3 and Kaan: you can change the amount of time it takes for you to show as inactive. Mine is 30min 😉
You can change setting and it won't show away even when you're not on your laptop.
@E1- about fell off my chair laughing at the "rock on space bar" solution.
30 mins isn't super useful... I just setup fake meetings/placeholder meetings for long events.

There's an app you can download that moves your mouse so it doesn't lock.

I have set up my Skype to show inactive at 360minutes. Idiot still shows me inactive after 15min. Most likely cause my laptop gets auto-locked.

I mean you can make it 5 hours if you want but 30min works perfectly for if I get up and go grab water/cook or something when I'm home. For longer stuff I do the same thing as you!
You could get in trouble with IT if you mess with your laptop timeouts, it's a violation of security policies
