Congratulations! Its not that bad. I delivered at NYU Langone. It’s crowded, as are all nyc hospitals, but the cost is similar to where I gave birth with my first — Minneapolis. Just find a doc or practice you like and it will all be worth it. <3
Try to deliver with an OB/hospital that take your insurance. I delivered my first child out of network and it was $9k++ (extra fees for anesthesiologist, circumcision etc) for vaginal and would have been over $11k for a C section; but then my dr started taking United and when it’s covered it’s like $500 copay plus extra for same above.
$200. It’s really based on your insurance so it doesn’t make sense to crowd source.
I am so glad I gave birth in Europe. Had to pay exactly 0 euro for my C-section and got a midwife for 6 weeks to come to my home 3/4 times a week 🙌🏻
It goes up if you pay for a private room which for me was 100000000% worth the addition $1800
Yes at Mt Sinai was $750-800 a night for private room each night. Worth it if you can swing it.
I had my second while working at McCann, c-section but otherwise no big complications and I believe I paid around $3K. However, the insurance at the time sucked because every lab test, procedure, whatever they only covered 80%. So, all the ultrasounds and tests really added up. Hoping they’ve improved the insurance!
I only paid $250 with Cigna insurance and had a C-section. My hospital only had single rooms not shared, so thankfully didn’t have to pay extra. This is in Westchester area of NY
Based on your insurance but by the time you actually deliver most of your deductible and max out of pocket costs are eaten up by all the appointments and tests. It’s good your insurance is about to reset so you take full advantage of it this year. The bill with my first was like $200. My bill with this one will be more like $1500 because I’m due earlier in the year.
Assume you’re going to max out your deductible plus co-pays. Choose an obgyn in network.
