Hell yes. Getting into tech is the difficult part. Moving around is easy.
Nope Accenture 2 don't give bad advice. Op meta is desperate for people a lot of their folks have quit. I make 144 base and all in I make 185. I told them I need min 250 TC and ideally about close to 300k as an ideal package and they said that number does not scare them at all.
Coach
30 percent raise to jump. 20 percent is doable and 35 percent plus is great.
Have you negotiated higher yet? Is this their first offer?
Nope
Too low, they gotta give u a bigger bag than that. If not, what’s the point?
This is the first offer. Curious what type of raise people would need in order to make the jump.
If you really want out/to exit to take I’d aim for at least what you make.
If you take a big cut and don’t end up liking it, I think you’d really really regret ir
I think if you can get to 140 base I'd accept. It would put it on par or close enough with Accenture.
Explain equity of 60 over 4 years. 60 shares???
60k in equity vesting monthly over 4 years. No cliff, meaning it vests monthly from the time you join the company.
Mentor
That’s tough. I’d probably take it tbh
is the role interesting to you?
I would negotiate for more. make it an offer you can't refuse
If you just hit manager this month, let them know your new TC and what you're looking for above that if you really, really want that role. Otherwise apply for something better now that your on-paper qualifications have improved.
What role at meta?
Negotiate higher but probably take it. Like you said it will get you into tech and then can leverage it for future salaries for growth.
What location is this? Base seems fine but that equity is LOW
Seems low unless you're pretty fresh out of school?
I'd take it as a stepping stone then go to a different tech company in 1-2 years for 5x comp
Negotiate and make the jump even if tc is same.. also meta low balled you. Check your worth on levels.fyi
So what level is this for. Might be able to push for at least 150k base to tell them that you can’t live off a 30k base pay cut.
