Recruiter indicated that an offer was coming, but it’s been almost 3 weeks since my last interview and it’s been crickets… is this a normal timeline? In house position for context

I’m a jr SWE and have successfully landed an interview with Google. It’s time for the coding and interview rounds. I’m a wreck. What was the best way to prep for this portion of the interview?

What would be a typical salary for a junior in house counsel role (3 yoe) at a publicly traded company in a secondary market (think Austin, Tampa, Charlotte)? I’m having a really hard time finding what a reasonable range would be. Most positions I’m applying to require desired salary in the application, and the truth is I’d accept anything north of 125k but don’t want to undersell myself and take a bigger cut than necessary coming from biglaw.

Tech company lay offs….are they soon to be inevitable?!

There is lots of companies really taking a hit in the tech space. Is this something that people are nervous about? Many seem to still be having a hiring push but with the button falling (IMO this is still just start we have a long way to go to bottom out) will that halt and layoffs ensue? And if so, which depts do you think will get hit the hardest?

Anyone have insight to what the plan is at UpStart for example?

I have been going on interviews and noticed 2 department heads already assume I was laid off or fired due to a 4 months gap. I explained I left my last role due to short term health issues that have been resolved. Not even sure how to respond when they assume. Any advise? Thanks!

This isn’t really an interview question but more of an on-boarding question.
Bit of background- I left my job of 3 years in Dec 2021 for a new company. Initially, I thought the company was great but my mind quickly changed. The on-boarding process was horrible, minimal training, thrown onto enterprise project 2 weeks in, over time, and there is no process for anything. I ended up hating my job.

Fast forward to Mid March, I started applying for jobs again but I omitted this role.

I accepted an offer from Cognizant for a consultant position a little less than a month ago. My joining date is 5th September and I would need visa sponsorship. I have completed my pre joining formalities and background verification. The thing is I haven’t heard from HR in a while and no update as yet on visa sponsorship process. Should I be worried?

Folks who got their green card recently through EB2 recently. 1) When did you get it? 2) What was your priority date? 3) What nationality?

Negotiating a settlement. I’m at $10k, opposing counsel is at $20k. My client won’t go higher than $15k. OC has come down to 17.5k and says his client won’t budge from that. Do I offer 12.5k so we can hopefully meet in the middle at 15k? Is that how the settlement game is played? Seems dumb we can’t just say let’s meet in the middle now and be done with this. (I’m a first year, first time negotiating a settlement on my own and I don’t want to screw this up!)

A successful small startup in NYC doing PE/niche executive recruiting and 2. a fairly reputable PE consulting group in Austin. After panel interview how long does it usually take for the recruiter to contact with an offer?

I have a partner that calls me multiple times a day to talk about updates on our cases. Sometimes just to ask “anything to update me on?” He’s known across all of the associates for doing this. Most of the calls repeat information I’ve already provided in emails to him or the client. I normally bill this time as “strategize on” or “consider XYZ in further of” and it keeps getting appealed. Any advice?

Now that the craziness of 2021 is firmly in the mirror, what is your class year and when do you normally stop working at night, on average? For me 6 to 7 is the average. Have to wake up at 5 or 6 a.m. one or two days a week to make that happen though and it may not last through Q4..

Just had a hearing on my motion to compel where OC told the judge we hadn’t conferred before filing the motion. Not only did I attempt to confer on 3 separate dates, I attached the emails and his response that he refused to confer to my motion. Judge didn’t care, as soon as she heard him say we hadn’t conferred she denied the motion. Not asking a question, just needed to vent.

Thoughts on sending out assignments over the weekend? I work a lot on weekends, but I don’t expect associates too. But, because I work on weekends, I often will send out assignments by email with a clear indication in subject line and body that it does not need to be completed or worked on over the weekend. Hi new here. Idk what my value is and if I’m getting paid an amount that reflects my hard work. I am a paralegal for a small law firm (family and immigration) w only 1 attorney. I have about 20 files or more in my rotation at a time. I work on various types of cases at once. Some are simple, others are extensive. I feel like it’s very unstructured and one of the managers micromanages. It’s like every man for himself. Take home pay is $50k. I am working on my bachelors deg. Do I get paid enough?

What are your outlook organization tips?

Trying to organize my email in a way that makes stuff easy to find. I have folders but how do I make emails both sent and receive easily save to their respective folders (as opposed to dragging each one)

Or any other organization tips for better productivity Iike I just have things organized by matters. Any other categorical suggestions?
