Proserv lost tens of millions in FQ3 22 according to the 10-K, but expects in-general to be net neutral. I guess if you take that out of CSG, where is the revenue? Yes there is some, and crediting some license revenue to CSM's, but it depends on your outlook as to whether CSG is a cost center or not....there's more to running a business than marketing, sales, and product.

CSG on average is a total mess and it’s not an easy job. Especially depending what customers you end up with. Constant re-org, sales dumping stuff on you, leadership leaving all the time, incompetent junior staff. That said one of the best coworkers I had in my 5 years there was a CSG director and he loved his job. He had awesome accounts too
Yes. Just wait until they re org mid year to an old strategy that already didn’t work 😂
Just joined CSG and already looking for a way out, agree with everything you’ve said OP
I’ve heard horrible things about Deloittes Salesforce practice. OP feel free to ping me if you’d like a referral to Accenture, my Salesforce leads / management are great
Accenture doesn’t do h1 i guess
So let's get serious for a moment. A lot of these gripes were pre restructuring of pro serv and pre acquisition of Acumen among other companies.
The project mgmt/engagement mgrs could use some revamping for sure but overall implementations have been A1 across the board. I'll take working at the mothership over one of the "big4" gigs everytime.
S6: I worked for 100k SOWs sold by PS
On top of all this, the pay isn't great either. Most big4s and ISVs pay more for similar positions especially if you are moving up internally.
S3, now THAT was the response of a seasoned goddam consultant. Well played. I’m gonna file that away for use elsewhere in dealing with internet trolls.
There was a time when we just sold advisors/architects and it was great. More money, less work then big 4. Now they are being pressured to be a growth lever for the company. So big, more complex deals. Things are getting shitty…

They really don't, at least not yet for PA's/TA's. Source - I used to work there as a PA. Implementation Architects (title no longer exists) used to be staffed half time across 2 projects though.
I interfaced with the CSG group on a Salesforce implementation that I was the PM on and literally no one knew much about SF, i’m talking basic stuff.
TA summarized it perfectly
I heard that most CSG projects are staff aug, and decided not join last summer, plus its offer was lower than the offers from Big4.
Just left accenture and joined a sales strategy team and really love it so far.
S8: Who are your management level 3 and 4?
Um. What OP is describing sounds like B4 itself 😂😂 I’m making over $450K in Services so I guess it depends on which level you come in as.
Coach
Wow someone reported my comment 😂 y’all are salty
Yikes! Bullet dodged. I just rejected an offer from them last week.
And don’t “oh honey” me, Jon Snow 🙄
Sorry but what is Salesforce CSG? Consulting Services…?
Subject Expert
Including, but not limited to, various consulting teams. Also support, customer success managers, supporting ops roles, etc.
XD group in CSG is fun, cohesive, successful, and growing. Outside of that group, yeah it's a bit spotty. Services sales and Success Managers have trouble understanding anything consultative, and default to solution selling.
Experience Design. The counterpart to Ignite in DSD (Digital Strategy and Design)
Other feedback I got from friends…. Adding to all this .. Creation of Professional Services within CSG. leadership of this group got created with people small SI acquisitions and quickly promoting people and all of them lack experience of looking at border picture and structuring organization for Agile delivery instead turning it to IBM / GE… not a robust organization structure..
Subject Expert
Ah yes, Lori Steele, a person super-relevant to how projects are delivered, with a legacy of top-quality technology project work at IBM. Leader of the people, who is known for frequently making herself available to workers for open-ended Q&A and then taking action on that feedback.
But as S12 says, don't listen to me - there are others here, Blind, Glassdoor, Reddit... You'll see a lot of people saying the same things, whether it's current and former employees talking about their experience working there in detail, or others who refuse to acknowledge any criticism and accuse those who level it of being low-performing "whiners" , though they never provide anything substantive that would lead a neutral party to a different conclusion...
What’s with random SF people getting all nasty because people didn’t accept jobs in SF? It’s not a comment on you personally; chill out
Did not get nasty! Folks just said they either didn’t accept the role and reacted to the lived experience of someone who works there.
What level are you OP?
Sorry for your experience OP. Is the situation better at SIs/partners? Its a lot more stress than partners, at least thats what I experienced. I would be happy to take a pay cut if I dont have to take BS from firm partners. Coming from one of the big4s so speaking from my experience
Not low stressful in Salesforce than partners. Sorry for the wording
As a company, Salesforce is really just Oracle with a unified metadata platform.
Yes absolutely
