Fishes, how were the appraisals in general at Deutsche Bank for roles in Mumbai location? Understand that they got concluded only recently so it will be interesting to know. While it may vary from function to function but we will atleast got to know a ballpark figure. Also if you could add your designations, will be great.

Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?
Not liking the fact it gets dark by 4PM

OP - ain’t going to happen reason - you are only focusing on limited work force and limited industry.. do you think construction, manufacturing, Utility industries would be work remotely?
how would you manufacture car?
How would you manufacture food?
How would you do construction?
How would you build highway?
How would you handle transportation?
69%.
1) There’s an inclusive “or” there with hybrid. That can mean up to 80% in office.
2) Last survey I saw only had 15-20% of white collar employers willing to offer 100% remote.
3) The number of employees who want 100% remote is ~2x the number of jobs that offer it.
The combination of 2 and 3 means that remote jobs will be harder to come by and pay less since more people want them than employers who are willing to offer them.
Basically remote is the way of the past unless you want to be paid less and be an individual contributor your whole life.
No. You said “remote is the future” and have been arguing against everyone in this thread who have been telling you that hybrid is what has been implemented in their companies, at their clients, and is what the data shows is actually happening.
You’re the one who has taken an absolutist stance on the issue that’s not supported by anything other than ideology.
I’ve been remote for the last two years. Would highly prefer a hybrid model.
It also varies within a firm. I knew someone at BCG who joined during COVID and was fully remote for two years. Needless to say, he left.
C1, all available data supports it. Almost every company that has tried to go against it has failed.

"data" is a very loose term here. Aggregated anecdotes and survey data probably won't hold in 6 months.
Hope it’s true
That's far from reality. That's never gonna happen. Although I hope that it does.
