Finally found THE one, after over a year of searching and trying out at least 5 different ones!
A nice comfortable office chair.

My criteria: mesh seat and back, arms, headrest
I tried cheap ones from Amazon. Expensive, second hand gaming chairs. Tried HM Aeron (second hand) and while I didn't like the bulk and the general design, I was sold on the mesh seating. I wanted to get the ErgoChair 2 from autonomous, but it doesn't have mesh seat.

It’s good that the firm at least called it Layoffs unlike a lot of other strategy firms. I got laid from a T2 company and I couldn’t even post on LinkedIn.
their approach to secure more business is quite slimy, and value to bill ratio is very low. sad for individuals, not for their leadership
I saw they had a 7% layoff in September 2023. Did they have another significant layoff ? I googled but saw nothing.

Hardly a need for any talent acquisition when there’s no hiring.
Not getting hired there last year is now a blessing in disguise it seems. Unfortunate for those let go though. It seems this firm is going through a rough patch.

Heard their Talent Acquisition folks took a deep cut (makes sense given the circumstances but unfortunate news nevertheless - only genuinely positive experiences working with them)

Nearly half of NA recruiters got impacted. So, if you're the candidate currently in talks with Slalom recruiters, know that they might be looking for jobs too.
Definitely impactful. The 40% TA number could mean differing things - by salaries? tenure? headcount? My guess is the latter but from what I’ve seen this isn’t just those that were recently brought on — many who were there 8 -15 years that will also go thru payouts as equity owners. Very sad to see and hope the ship will right itself over time. Market - yes, Over exuberance on expansion, likely.
I almost went to work there. But Part of the reason I’ve stayed at Booz Allen for over a decade there is a good amount of job security, wlb, and culture. Doesn’t hurt that our stock has gone from $30 in 2016 to $147.
Do you have to find projects once an engagement ends?
Not only recruiters though, right? I saw a few associate consultants in my network post that they were let go as well.

Those might be from that infamous silent layoffs
New layoff today for internal recruiting workforce mainly
Is it a new layoff or the one from September last year?
June 13, 2024: Check the news - another 3.4% layoffs with promotion freeze happening....
Layoffs at Slalom again? 3.4% is a very specific number.
