Hi All, I am about to have salary discussion for an opportunity with Credit Suisse. Can you please let me know what is the max salary that can be offered to 11 YOE Java developer joining in AVP position? Do they offer VP position to 11 YOE by any chance? Also how is the current situation within CS considering all the financial turmoil and layoff news? Will it be a wise decision to move to CS from Barclays at this point of time?

Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

With OP. Love Southwest. Free internet. Drink coupons. Companion pass for a year. No change fees. Yes
I’ll take being “stuck in coach” over stuck in the airport like AA always leaves me
As long as your ‘national’ flights are all infra-TX or intra-CA, that makes sense. If you are flying 90+ minutes in coach on a plane w/o FC, well...let’s just say I would not
I’m with B1 - OP, you’re crazy.
I’m with OP. Love the no change fees policy of SW.
With BCG's first class policy, you should never fly SW...
I find pretty much everything about SW more pleasant than other airlines, from the boarding process to the flight attendants to their customer support. The lack of first class is a downside, but having flown a lot of coach anyway it doesn’t bother me too much, even for 6 hour flights
P4 - the recent data doesn’t back up your anecdote - SW is less on time than UA and AA

I’ve always wanted to like southwest, but their on time rate, lack of flexibility during irregular operations, lack of online rebooking tools, and limited lounge access in the terminals they fly to/from does not make them a viable option for me.
Have flown SW a handful of times. Can’t emphasize how much the corniness of the flight attendants annoys me. I enjoy silence on my flights. I’d rather not hear your awful freestyle rap over the PA.
Lol A1, Southwest has a lower on time arrival rate than literally any of the major carriers
JetBlue is a perfected version of SouthWest
AA and UA have been cancelled / delayed / sit on the tarmac after you land for 2 fucking hours way more than southwest ever has. From a reliability perspective, SWA is great. Id rather fly in a plane that gets to my destination on time, that's more important the size. Plus if you get SWA status you board first and take the emergency exit seats which has as much room as first class, just no shitty airplane food served
^ That. The personality and enthusiasm show on WN and I always find it an enjoyable experience. But for long haul I’ll go with a legacy (in my case AA) due to the possibility of not being stuck in coach that long.
I use it for vacation. Hate traveling it for business
I’m with OP - amazing airline, stress free
I don’t mind WN but rarely use them because they have one of the worst on time percentages in the US and don’t recover well from major irregular operations. The experience may be superior to the larger legacies but they’re best for short haul in specific markets that aren’t of huge use to me.
Are you WN lovers short?
I’m 6’4 and can’t deal with WN seating.
Economy Plus is my minimum
I think if you’re 6’4” then the grand majority of the world population is short in comparison. I can imagine regular economy is hell for you :D
