I have been working in the construction industry for 2 years under a general contractor. I am wanting to get into consulting and my ideal role would be something like an Associate in Major Projects Advisory with KPMG. I’m curious to know which firms/companies have positions and departments like the one mentioned that I could apply for?

Yes, as most likely, they won’t get paid
Yes, because they might not recommend you for future placements if they don’t understand why you turned it down.
This post highlights the fundamental flaw with recruitment agencies in general. It’s about getting the placement fees with the least amount of work possible. Bait and switch job placement happens all the time. But instead of blaming the hiring company, they blame the hired employee. They won’t care what your reasons are. You cost them money. They’ll keep working with the company because that’s where the money comes from. You, on the other hand, are now more trouble than you’re worth.
Yes theyre going to be very “curious,” (meaning pissed) and theyre going to try to talk you into taking it, because they will get paid (probably 20% of your salary if you make it a year).
And agree with SVP above—theyll look at you as a pain in the ass and wont work as hard for you.
