My district just purchased Gizmos. Thoughts?
Hi everyone! The Environmental Education Collaborative in Southern California is hosting an online symposium Feb 25-28 (after school and weekend hours) and we would love to have you. Our topics this year include Justice, Literacy and Wellness. Let me know if you have any questions, I'll be leading a "Bob Ross" style painting session on the Wellness day that teaches the steps of the water cycle while incorporating SEL strategies. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2021-environmental-education-symposium

I'm not a big fan of science fairs to begin with.
I am not a big fan either. I am a retired high school science chairperson. A number of years ago a doctoral student did a project among a number of local school districts that attempted to find a correlation between mandatory student science fair activities and student interest in science. At the outset the hypothesis was that there was a positive correlation. His research and analysis proved exactly the opposite...school districts that did not mandate science fairs possessed students who had more of an interest in science and science careers than mandated project districts!
