So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

Same here. Just got admitted to an EMBA program to help market myself better (on top of my CPA). Want to keep my options open in the future, specifically Corp Dev.
From what I have read, pay is better and maybe/slightly better WLB. I can honestly see myself staying to Partner at my firm but want to keep my options open.
I just landed a corp dev role. I work in HC TAS and networked a lot with HC corp dev. It finally paid off.
My hypothesis is that since M&A is heating up, there are more opps out there and they will look outside of IB. It’s also a huge cut in potential earnings for IB, especially in lower MM corp dev industries
PE, pretty much non existent. Small family office, yes. Corp dev, yes.
Like an investment associate role
PE nah, Corp dev, maybe. Best route is to try to go IB for a few years then shift over to Corp dev. Will be much more marketable
I can’t imagine myself doing IB due to those absurd hours. Not really familiar with PE or Corp deb hours tho
