Well I guess that just means public isn’t for me. So long EY. Enjoyed my time here but I’ve had enough ✌🏻
Switch to tax and you will have 30 client projects going on at once
Trust me, I know what you all are referring to. I had over 70 properties under myself. These properties had different management agencies and different investors etc... Some investors want to review the draft FS and some didn’t care. Each property had it’s own agreements, with different waterfalls. Confirming mortgages etc takes a lot , we even had to get creative. To be successful I had to have an excellent tracker. I totally get it, I am just stating that it’s not the same.
I am not under estimating the work that you all do, by far that’s not what I meant. I am just saying it’s not the same. It’s like comparing apples and strawberries.
I was juggling 4 clients at one point this busy season, same rank as you. Feeling overwhelmed is an understatement... Spoke up, two things happened: One SM told me that I would have to do this as a manager anyways and I just need to put up with it for a little bit. One didn't say anything to me personally but knew what I was dealing with and worked with scheduling to reduce some of my hours, and another just listened to my complaints and told me that next time I should speak up sooner if I think it's too much. Be honest with yourself, see if you can think of some way you can do it. Push down to staff as much as you can and communicate in email to hold them accountable. Good luck, message me if you need to vent.
AA1 but you also need to know that many manager are just addressing questions, meetings all day long and just work after everyone is gone or at home...you are working on addressing you vouching issues and the manager the issue reneged to be the partner admin
I’m in the same boat, juggling three clients and already interviewing so I can get out this summer. I feel like I’m stagnating this busy season and not getting anything meaningful out of it that I didn’t already get last year. I’m kicking myself for not leaving last summer.
Cont.... successful. When talking to my manager he said they put me in that position because they knew I could handle it! Wtf clearly not. Does anyone else think this is fair/ normal for a senior to juggle 2 jobs at the same damn time during busy season?
Look at the budget and how much time you are put you in for. If someone in your role previously was budgeted at 50% each and was eating time you got screwed. If they both had you down at 100% then you were double staffed. Start with each and the amount budgeted and work it from there. The first scenario happened to me when the senior who got promoted would just eat time and she told me that after I took over as senior
It’s definitely not normal on my jobs unless you’re the lead senior and we’ve had discussions around how we manage your time/expectations. And max would be a 50/50 split not multiple jobs at once.
Unfortunately looking at the comments above it seems to be a frequent thing to overload people
