I would say it’s role dependent. More technical will likely get more money.
In Chicago I made 100k total at my last job. Just took a new role a month ago for 120k base and 10% bonus. I would say the base range I saw when searching was 100k-120k with 120k being the higher end.
In my opinion, 120k will make you stand out a bit more. 100k-110k was pretty common and I felt too small of a bump from what my current pay was for me to leave.
I mean jeezus, I make 100K as a C about to be SC…what companies do I need to be applying to here 😂
That is a starting-level position according to Deloitte's survey results.
