McKinsey is hiring across all roles right now in North America. If you are interested in a referral please send me a DM.
Point blank: if you want to join a tech firm, please prepare to get (at least somewhat) technical. This “how do make $300k at FAANG using only PowerPoint “ is getting old
Has anyone bombed their last interview (case or assessment) and still got the job? My assessment went over 10mins and so my interviewers and I didn’t have a chance to exchange much, but I did make an effort to ask if they still have some time and asked more questions related to the role. What are my chances 🥲

Scored an exit finally! Currently Senior, Tech Consulting, 2 Yrs YOE, 115k TC. Exit to Coinbase, Senior Program Manager, L6, $271k TC, $90k Stocks, one year vesting For those looking to leave consulting, I know it's hard at times, but hang in there and the opportunity will show itself! Considering leaving for another firm job, one year in. Thoughts? New position would be a better practice area fit and would only work with clients in the industry I want. Currently it’s about 60% of what I’d like. Also, current firm seems to be stagnating with low hours to go around. I’m worried about not making hours, missing my bonus, and low professional development. Comparable on prestige & exit options and would be $5k less. Just worried about burning bridges and leaving “too soon.”
Good morning everyone, We will be at Hotel Albuquerque this morning conducting interviews for an IT position with our team, if you have anyone that you feel would be a great fit have them stop by we will be there all day and will have a computer available to apply on-site!

Am a director at a boutique / senior manager equivalent at ATK / S& type firm. Total comp is around 250k this yr ( crappy bonus) and have an opp to move to industry doing process improvement for about 275k total. Less travel and stress. Good exit opp or should I aim higher for salary?

Out of curiosity, do you work other jobs outside of your contracted/regular teaching position? Is it a need or just ‘fun’ money? What other job(s) are you working?
I just received a job offer for a position that better aligns with my skills and education. It’s also something I want to do and would get me out of banking, so to speak. The proposed salary offer is only 10% more than what I am making now, though. I currently have a fully remote job and have tons of free time and flexibility. I love my current job as it affords me time with my kids and it’s stress free. The new job is in an office setting and will have more responsibility. Not sure what to do?
Fish, I have a sibling that has experienced mental issues through college/their professional life. They’ve recently gotten to a better state, and are looking to switch to a role that has more of cont.
I currently work in a hybrid sales/marketing role. However, I would love more experience in marketing specifically so I can move in to a marketing specific role. Does anyone have a suggestion of books or articles, podcasts, organizations to follow that will allow me to stay up to date on the latest trends but also help prepare for a marketing centric role? Thank you
Think it's time to pivot. I'm in an internal services role (contracts) and am feeling antsy. I'm over remote work. I don't need pre-pandemic level of travel, but I need to not be 100% remote. I don't have have an IT background or business degree. Thoughts for next steps?
Fishes, looking for recommendations on growing business development and sales skills. Finding and growing pipelines, establishing marketing materials, closing sales, and similar for services. I have on the job experience within consulting but never any formal training or education. Entering a new role where I'll need to build organizational capabilities from scratch. Any recommendations on programs, certificates, courses, books, or other similar ideas would be greatly appreciated. TIA!
Warning signs that you’re about to be fired?
Human Capital Consultant up for promotion. Call with an Accenture recruiter tomorrow. On a digital enablement project with no SM and supervising others. How do I position? And at what level?
I'm having a hard time discerning what is better in the long run for compensation. Front office investment banking (where salary comp is lower for x amount of time but could balloon to the highest at time y) Analytics or Cloud (where comp is higher or equal for x period and is potentially easier to stay in past time y) Strategy (or other highly paid) consulting (where I can't really discern it from IB other than from a skills/subject matter perspective) Could someone please share an opinion?
Has there been in layoffs in Public sector? From what I can tell it has been all in commercial advisory...
Met my team for the first time since Covid started Manager : “wow you’ve gained some weight since I last saw you” Me to me: “ I wonder if I should underperform and blow the budget on the next project i work with you on. “🤔
Were you out at work or with your family first? Would also love to hear if it was your gender or your sexuality (or both) too.

Is there really an ethical argument to booking flights on CWT? My back-of-the-napkin math says we give up roughly $20 per week in credit card rewards (CSR at 4.5%).
I am not from the US and taxes overwhelm me; the first few years I did them with TurboTax and it was fine but then I entered a domestic partnership and had a baby. I also bought a house (that I don’t live in), so I went to H&R Block to give it a try assuming they could advise me on optimizing my return, it seemed that they are completely transactional as the person is just typing numbers in a form. Any recommendations on how to navigate personal taxes with an actual advisor?
Any recommended books, trainings, skills for transitioning from consulting to chief of staff role? The role is loosely defined but overall expect to be focused on strategic growth/ corp dev, exec / investor and all company communication, conflict resolution and the like. Also appreciate learning points from those who already transitioned to a similar role.
Yay! It’s “diversity” y’all! 🙄
Helping raise awareness: If a colleague is going out on maternity leave, it’s lovely to acknowledge. Pro tip- saying “I everything goes well” is more appropriate than wishing them “A good break.”
Karen what is the creative best work of your career? What work propelled you to your current role?
Currently an S1 in TR in the north west, making 94k. Just started talks with KPMG, what should I throw out there for salary expectations? I stated 110k and was told that’s in range, just want to make sure I’m not undercutting myself.
