Hello RSM coworkers! I am thrilled to be moving to RSM into a Scheduler roll. I just found out yesterday and want to be as prepared as possible in the next steps.
So here are my questions.
How long does the background study take? I'm guessing admin staff have a study that is faster and less complicated than someone in Tax ect.
When training at home what did you need that wasn't supplied by RSM? My home office is well stocked but I want to be as prepared as possible.
Thanks in advance!
The new company I’m at now sent me an email from an email address that was HR@companyName.careers saying I was accepted for the position. They gave me paperwork to fill out and sign to accept the position
I fill out the paperwork and send it back to them and it goes through… then a few days later I go back to the email to say something else and I get this…?
Then today I got a check from the company In the mail to setup my home office, and it’s signed by someone I’ve never met before or heard of…?
What…..

Finally found THE one, after over a year of searching and trying out at least 5 different ones!
A nice comfortable office chair.

My criteria: mesh seat and back, arms, headrest
I tried cheap ones from Amazon. Expensive, second hand gaming chairs. Tried HM Aeron (second hand) and while I didn't like the bulk and the general design, I was sold on the mesh seating. I wanted to get the ErgoChair 2 from autonomous, but it doesn't have mesh seat.
AMA.

I’d recommend going up to at least 27in.
It's not how many inches you have, it's how you use the real estate that matters.

Are you planning to wall mount the monitor or have it sat on a desk?
You should really consider mounting if you can. Gives off such a clean look

Get dual 27 inch 1440p monitors and don’t look back, you won’t have to think about it for 5-10 years.
Samsung, LG have solid options that aren’t pricey.
After a while with dual 24 inch 1080p monitors you’ll inevitably regret not getting 27s. Add a dual monitor VESA mount (Amazon) and you have a clean desk setup
Samsung has some nice curved 24 inch monitors for under $200 (at least before covid…may have crept over 200 now)

Try a curved monitor before you buy it. It’s a very different experience especially with the 1000R ones.
U4021QW - get this one
I got a pair of 24” Samsungs 1920x1080 (HD) for just over $100 each (had to hunt around a bit for the deal, checked Amazon, Best Buy and Office Depot online. Manufacturers will rotate deals, I recommend a 75hz refresh rate or greater, but unless you’re gaming you won’t need much higher than that).
I’m also using a Vivo stand (Amazon) to mount the two together (optional as each monitor has its own stand).
Cheap and cheerful, but the specs and size are all I need for software development/cloud architecture. I’m not gaming or doing anything crazy with them.

I have two set ups... 2 24in and 1 34in curved... I'd go with the single, larger curved monitor. Cleaner, easier and cheaper.
