How long do you see yourself here? Do you feel the same?" I was honest by saying I may go back to Hollywood someday in several years, but I GREATLY enjoy the stability of this job so I can't really predict the future. I work for the state and it's very difficult to fire people. I feel weird about her question, should I be worried?

How do I be a decent manager to a coworker who's upset I've been promoted twice in two years and they haven't? We started out as coworkers, became decent friends after a few good moments, but went back to simply coworkers after they flubbed a few projects and I had to step in to clean up. I'm non-confrontational but year-end reviews are right around the corner and I'm worried about having to act professional to someone who I got too close with and who now hates me.
