Hello RSM coworkers! I am thrilled to be moving to RSM into a Scheduler roll. I just found out yesterday and want to be as prepared as possible in the next steps.
So here are my questions.
How long does the background study take? I'm guessing admin staff have a study that is faster and less complicated than someone in Tax ect.
When training at home what did you need that wasn't supplied by RSM? My home office is well stocked but I want to be as prepared as possible.
Thanks in advance!

Yes, do it.

Well the cost is up to you I've seen cheaper. Assuming no reimbursement, it really depends on how much money you have to spend on furniture.
I personally am putting up with a little more discomfort to prepare additional emergency funds in case of a layoff. I don't think it's probably but it is possible, so I want to be as nimble as possible in case I have a job search that outlasts my current emergency fund.
But yes, I'd definitely get some sort of desk that is more ergonomic, either standing or sitting.
Depends. If you were only able to use it for 1-2 months, would you be satisfied with your purchase? If so, then buy it.

I bought a foldable tray thing with legs - to use in bed, or can use on my desk as a (non adjustable) standing desk! It was $20 or something.

Amazon! Can’t remember the brand but if you search for aluminum folding table, you should be able to find something similar (it folds into a briefcase size/look)
I bought my sit/stand desk Autonomous.ai because I found them to be significantly cheaper than Vari desk. I love it and I've had mine for a year now
This is the exact one I am looking at. Estimated delivery now is end of next month lol

Sure but you also could just get like a $200 one from IKEA

I have this desk and it’s rock solid. I definitely recommend it. Super minimal, easy assembly, a good buy indeed.
Yes do it
If you're worried about shakiness you'll probably need to spend more than $500 for a good standing desk. Check iMovR Lander. It's the industry leader in my view.

Uplift desk all the way

I think our industry changes after this, you won't be traveling every week, so you'll be using that space more in the future
Buy the desk
Depends on how much money you make but if you can afford it, I say go for it.

How much money you make is part of the equation, but how much you owe and spend matter also
I like my Vari (desk) a lot. Plan to be home much more in the future.

No. Get the one that is $1000+
Autonomous for like 300
